You are not required to be part of a youth group to attend, however, we encourage you to join a local youth group or ask your school friends to see if their youth group is attending FORGE so you can join them. IS FORGE STILL ON IF IT RAINS?
FORGE is an outdoor event and weather conditions can have a significant impact. While our aim is to run the event ‘rain, hail, or shine’, extreme weather (such as severe storms or dangerous conditions) may lead to cancellation.
If this happens, we’ll notify attendees via email and updates on our website. We strongly encourage all participants to come prepared for wet and muddy conditions—bring a raincoat, waterproof footwear, and a sense of adventure!
WHAT SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T I BRING?
Bring closed in shoes and clothing that is appropriate for the cooler weather conditions, as well as the activities on offer. All activities will include the necessary equipment, with the exception of skateboarding. People wishing to skate will need to bring their own skateboard and safety equipment. It is recommended that electronic devices are left at home, as all belongings are the sole responsibility of the owner. Please do not bring your own sporting equipment (footballs etc.) unless prior permission has been given by the event organisers.
With the safety of all people in mind, illegal items will not be tolerated under any circumstance. These include (but are not limited to) drugs, alcohol, weapons, explosives and incendiary devices, lasers or other contraband. Other prohibited items include spray cans, lighters, cigarettes and vapes, portable sound systems and airhorns etc. People involved in possessing or bringing illegal or prohibited items into the event will be removed, and police may be notified.
IS THERE A SAFE DROP OFF & PICK UP LOCATION NEAR THE VENUE?
Yes! There is limited parking available on the southern side of the venue, which is the safest spot for drop off and pick up. Please avoid stopping outside the Adventure Centre, as it can become congested and unsafe. Look for signage or parking attendants to help guide you to the right area.
WHERE AND WHEN DOES DROP OFF AND PICKUP HAPPEN?
Drop off at the venue is from 6:00pm when gates open. At the conclusion of the evening, ideal pickup time is from 8:45pm.
Upon registration and payment, a confirmation email will be sent that outlines further instructions, including relevant maps and diagrams.
CAN I COME AND GO ONCE I’M THERE, AND ARE THERE PASSOUTS ALLOWED?
No, for safety reasons there are no passouts and you won’t be able to come and go during the event. If you need to leave early, you’ll need to be signed out by a parent, guardian, or another adult you’ve listed as an emergency contact. We want to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for the whole time!
CAN PARENTS, GUARDIANS OR OTHER ADULTS ENTER THE EVENT?
No, with the safety of all attendees in mind, only pre-approved volunteers and youth ministry workers will be allowed entry to the venue. Parents, guardians and other adults who may wish to collect their child are required to wait outside at the pickup point.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN FOOD & DRINK BOTTLE?
No, as your entry ticket will include the provision of adequate food and snacks for dinner, as well as complimentary drink. There will also be a constant supply of water available at any stage throughout the evening.
ARE THERE ANY EXPECTATIONS OF ME IF I ATTEND?
Yes – we want you to have fun and get involved as much as you are comfortable. However, because the enjoyment and safety of all persons attending is a priority, any antisocial, disrespectful or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event.
